Chris Down - Sound Chris has performed a wide variety of roles within the show – electrician, sound, stage management, helpful ear, photographer and many more besides. He is very much part of the beating heart that brings the show into being.

Sarah Ewen Sarah was part of our first production in the chorus. She has since starred as Snow White and Marion in our production of Robin. Her son Alex also enjoys being part of the cast. She also takes care of all our media needs and is responsible for our wonderful website.

Rob Foster - stage manager Rob, with his quiet unflappability, has brought much needed skills to the backstage. Full of ideas with a reliable drill, he constructs and moulds during our intensive set up week.

Pippa Giles - backstage Pippa does a great job as our Secretary to the Players Committee and was pounced upon at the 11th hour (not literally) to prompt the cast.  Afterwards she did comment that she found it challenging as the cast were not always in the place they were supposed to be! She thought at one moment they had actually gone backwards!

Cosimo Hawkings

Cosimo Hawkings

Ness Hawkings - Director/Producer Having appeared in Cinderella, we then lost our director to Cornwall. Someone put 2 and 2 together and got 104 and suggested Ness should direct the next show. After her directorial debut with Snow White, she took the plunge and wrote ‘Robin’. This was clearly not enough torture for her (or for anyone else!) as she is back with another stab and this time takes on Charles Dickens. Mad! Fortunately, her son Cosimo doesn’t think her mad enough so is happy to be part of the show and is looking forward to the rehearsals, or so he said….

David Hutchison A last minute addition to the cast for Snow White and now an integral part of the show. I bet he never thought he would be seen in public with union jack sock suspenders! What a sport!

Hugh Keatinge A backbone of the cast – Hugh is our wise and calm anchor when things might feel a little choppy. From a sleepy dwarf in Snow White to the unforgettable Mr Parsley in Robin – we are very much looking forward to seeing him tread the boards again for us.

Rae Owen - costumes Known to us all – she performs many roles around the valley. We are very grateful that not only does she run the Village Hall diary but most importantly she provides us with magnificent costumes for virtually nothing. What will the new show hold?

Sylvia Parrett Sylvia is always ready to give anything a go and she has shone in a wide range of parts. From narrating Cinderella to the darker ‘Mirror’ in Snow White. She and Hugh became a very believable duo in Robin and they will appear together again this year, this time as brother and sister.

Rowena Paxton If introducing herself in Cinderella as a be-baubled fairy wasn't memorable enough, Rowena has gone on to entertain us with a variety of characters - Clattercup and Binky Bourne. Enough said.

Elizabeth Perry Elizabeth joined us for Snow White. She endured a particularly unattractive wig last year, winning her my admiration, as Friar Tuck in Robin. She returns in ‘Oliver’ as a policeman. She is also responsible for our photographs of the productions for which we are exceedingly grateful.

Sarah Pike Sarah keeps a hold on the budget with an assured grip. She also shepherds all the tickets to their various destinations with organised efficiency and charm. We are extremely lucky that she agreed to be our Treasurer and I am sure she can’t wait to hear about all the ideas for the new show!!

Steve Pike Steve burst into our lives as an unbelievably Ugly Sister in Cinderella. Unabashed since then he has taken on the role of King in Snow White and quite a nasty baddy in Robin. He has also found a hitherto unknown enjoyment of singing in public. Is there nothing he won’t tackle? His son Leo is also in the show and returns this year for his 3rd outing.

Jo Rolland Jo joined us for Snow White as a regal Queen. She really came into her own in Robin playing the persecuted Persephone Pinkington Pumpkin trying to handle a tricky band manager. We really look forward to seeing her tackle Miss Fudge the postman in ‘Oliver’.

Ian Sommerville Our token professional, who clearly found it all too much last year, moved out of the valley! Much cajoling (and wine) has resulted in thankfully he will put up with us again this year. He not only comes with decades of experience but a shed load of lighting equipment. We are forever in his debt.

Adam Thomas

Adam Thomas

Lesley Thomas Lesley very soon established her firm position in the cast and has brought us memorable performances in Cinderella (still smiling after losing the back of her dress), Snow White, where she was a particularly evil Wicked Queen and the be-wigged Johanna Prince in Robin, successfully fielding a real dog on stage. She returns for possibly a career highlight this year with Nancy in Oliver. Her son Adam is also an important part of the cast.

India Vivian

Hugh Vivian Hugh has brought us lots of love interest over the last 3 years! He took time out from Snow White but fans were relieved to see him back ‘getting the girl’ in Robin. He will be drawing on his acting abilities with ‘Oliver’ as he will be seeking to tap into his inner baddy. His daughter India is also an integral part of the cast.

Suzanne Waters Suzanne is a very valued member of the cast. She gamely dyed her hair green last year – all her own idea – and I am sure she never thought she would be appearing in the Village Hall as the member of a band complete with guitar. She returns this year to be a policeman – sadly green hair was not around in 1890!
